    Solution:Original question:
      - 8 + 4( - 17 + 2(17 + x )) = 12(3 x + 2)
    Remove the bracket on the left of the equation:
     Left side of the equation = - 84 × 14 × 7 + 4 × 2(17 + x )
                                             = - 8428 + 8(17 + x )
                                             = - 40 + 8(17 + x )
                                             = - 40 + 8 × 17 + 8 x
                                             = - 40 + 136 + 8 x
                                             = 96 + 8 x
    The equation is transformed into :
     96 + 8 x = 12(3 x + 2)
    Remove the bracket on the right of the equation:
     Right side of the equation = 12 × 3 x + 12 × 2
                                               = 36 x + 24
    The equation is transformed into :
     96 + 8 x = 36 x + 24

    Transposition :
     8 x 36 x = 2496

    Combine the items on the left of the equation:
      - 28 x = 2496

    Combine the items on the right of the equation:
      - 28 x = - 72

    By shifting the terms and changing the symbols on toth sides of the equation, we obtain :
     72 = 28 x

    If the left side of the equation is equal to the right side, then the right side must also be equal to the left side, that is :
     28 x = 72

    The coefficient of the unknown number is reduced to 1 :
      x = 72 ÷ 28
        = 72 ×
